Dan Bramlet grew up playing baseball, basketball, and soccer recreationally and competitively, but after learning a few “Hip Hop” moves from friends he began bouncing around the house every time he heard music. Not much later his mother signed him up for a dance class at the local dance studio his sister danced at to try a class… He mocked his sister’s dancing for years, and all of a sudden he was taking a class in the room next to her. A few more years later, during his sophomore year of high school, he left sports completely to solely pursue dance. He won many scholarships and awards as an amateur dancer competing in jazz, hip hop, ballet, and contemporary.
The diversified dance education Dan received in both Phoenix, AZ and Los Angeles, CA prepared him to travel for many years as a member of both Adam Parson’s Commonality Dance Company & Josie Walsh’s Myo Kyo Dance Company. He also had the pleasure to perform in industrials for NBC, Red Bull, and Network Associates as well as choreographed & directed award shows and special events.
Though a talented dancer & performer Dan’s biggest passion has always been teaching. In his 20+ years as a dance educator he has been the teacher, choreographer, adjunct faculty, guest artist, artistic director, consultant, and studio director to dance studios, high schools, colleges, workshops, and dance companies. He is currently the owner/artistic director of Wild Card Dance Co in Agoura Hills, Ca that he proudly founded with his one time student Heather Mattheisen in the summer of 2009. You can see the dancers he has mentored featured in the Jabbawockeez, multiple season winners of MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew, So You Think You Can Dance, Cirque de Soleil, movies, television, and in concert dancing behind some of your favorite artists in music.
